Mute panic?

hey i have been playing br for 3 years now i played tenor horn for 1 year and cornet for 2! im in the school band and play the pink panther and charmelion (sorry i cant spell it) and i needed a mute i got one at a music shop and it keeps falling out of my cornet and the perforance is in 3 weeks! i realy need help thanks
